Environmental consultant

Since the end of my career as a senior civil servant, during which time I worked for Goverment bodies such as the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs, Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Cabinet Office, Royal Botanic Gardens Kew and the Centre for Environment Fisheries and Aquaculture Science, I have restarted work as a freelance environmental consultant. During my later Government years, my specialisms included business strategy, the development of target operating models covering a network of bodies, policy development, lobbying, stakeholder management and negotiation. I have worked in Whitehall, the European Union and United Nations. I have ample experience leading large teams, managing budgets of £20 million, and briefing Ministers up to the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary.

Recent strategy or communications clients include Scottish Seabird Centre, BirdLife International and the Cambridge Conservation Initiative.
