My books

  • Enthused by bringing nature to life for the non-specialist, I have written 11 books and contributed to several others. Three books have won awards: two have garnered 'travel guide book of the year' gongs and the third a silver Nautilus Book Award. I will have two books out in 2021, both about moths.
  • I have had two books published in 2019: Birds of Spain and Year-round walks: Norfolk. I will be spending the year writing a new book - a travel narrative about moths, moth-ers and the British landscape - for Bloomsbury.
  • In 2018, I had four books published: 52 European Wildlife Weekends, Hedgehogs, The Butterfly Pavilion and Birds of France. 52 European Wildlife Weekends won the Adele Evans Award for Best Guidebook 2018, and was additionally shortlisted for the 2018 Travel Guide Book of the Year at the 2018 Travel Media Awards. The Butterfly Pavilion won a Silver Nautilus Book Award.
  • A Summer of British Wildlife (published March 2016) won Travel Guide Book of the Year at the 2016 Travel Media Awards
