Glaucous Gull

As a teenager, I spent winter weekends watching our local gull roost. Incessantly, obsessively. As an adult, I hate gulls. I've done my time with them. Actually, that's not quite true: I love Mediterranean Gulls and Kittiwakes. And I still have a soft spot for 'white-wingers' (Glaucous and Iceland Gulls). But I hate anything that looks like a Herring Gull, and all the taxonomy and misidentifications that come with it. Fortunately, Varanger had plenty of Glaucs - and it was enjoyable watching them from the comfort of the car.
