Last week, a juvenile Red-footed Falcon was discovered on a garden fence by a busy road in Lowestoft. The location itself was daft enough, and the views were insane, but what really took the biscuit was that the fence belonged to a house whose side wall - in front of which the Red-foot often flew - was painted with a gigantic Norfolk Hawker dragonfly. The irony was lost on nobody. Anyhow, I popped in to see it one morning on the way to a survey. And very nice it was too. My first juvenile.
