30 June 2014  Damsels, not in distress

Early on Sunday morning. A free hour. Sunny and relatively calm. Time to try to photograph some local dragonflies. I have been after two particular images for two years now. The first is a close-up of a damselfly's eyes, with a very shallow depth of field. Just to show quite how alien these insects appear. The second is to capture 'love' of the six-legged kind: a mating pair with an unfettered backdrop. I think I may be getting there. See what you think from the images below of Azure Damselflies in the margins of a pool on Blackheath.
